New Look!

Read all about it! My website has got a whole new look!

I don't there's any such thing as 'finished' when it comes to websites - things just change too much for them to be a static presentation of a person's work - but hey, that's a good thing! There's a new layout and new imagery, but there's still lots more goodness to come, so I'm looking forward to 'unveiling' it as things come together. In the mean time I hope you enjoy the new stock images, and get a sneak peek of my new surface designs - these form the backdrop of some of the greetings cards!

Toodlepip!

Tuesday 19 March 2013

So this week has already been busy and full of energy but I'm not having a lot to show for it yet - sound familiar? But I keep having to remind myself that you need to the do the ground work for things before you can just bash them out - aka - doing all the sampling and hitting brick walls before you go 'Aha!' and  figure it all out, then spend the next day making like a gazillion things.
Anyways,  apart from lots of printing, making and drawing for a commission (more on those exciting prospects later) but so far Ive been settling in to my brand new studio at my brand new pad. I can tell you it didn't take much time to get things running- I've never had such an easy space to fill - it helps being made of straight walls, average height ceilings and windows, and no radiators getting in the way - which is what Ive had to deal with...well, forever! Now there are straight lines, underfloor heating, so no annoying ugly radiators making decisions for me, and there are amazing views too, so lots of good light.

There's still more tables to get, and my new machine is still waiting for a service, but it's already functioning so well, Ive even been able to use my (brother's) light box without having to dig it out from under the bed of wherever. It's like feng-shui going on in here!

I'm going to a seminar on interior design with Abigail Ahern in London this month and I'm expecting to come away with lots of inspiration on how to make the studio a great place to be and not just a messy office. If you don't know her you should go check out her work, it's great.

I'll leave you with the amazing views I'm thoroughly enjoying from my massive studio window which opens up on one big hinge like a dolls house! (You can see the steam train go by from here, and the weather changing through the valley, which can get rather distracting- it's so mesmerising!)

Happy Tuesday!
